Welcome to the Creative Leadership Field Guide

The Creative Leadership Field Guide is a living, alumni-led resource spotlighting the work, insights, and practices of graduates from the MA in Creative Leadership program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). Rooted in our shared commitment to transformational change, this platform is a space to learn from one another, spark new ideas, and connect across industries and communities.

We are a diverse and evolving community of artist-practitioners, systems thinkers, and changemakers who believe that creativity is essential to building a more just, sustainable, and vibrant world. The Field Guide tells the ongoing story of our program and our people—celebrating the ways we continue to lead, imagine, and make change long after graduation.

Through curated case studies, reflections, and thought leadership, the Field Guide advances creative leadership as a force for personal, organizational, and societal transformation. Whether you're here to deepen your practice, share your work, or connect with fellow alumni, this is your space.

Get Involved

Submit Your Work

We invite all MCAD Creative Leadership alumni to contribute. Submissions should align with one or more of the four pillars of the program:

  • Creativity: Navigating uncertainty and reimagining systems
  • Culture: Building shared meaning and collaboration across differences
  • Equity: Repairing injustice and building liberatory systems
  • Sustainability: Regenerating life and thriving within planetary limits

Serve on the Advisory Committee

Help guide the design and evolution of this project by joining monthly or bimonthly Advisory Committee meetings.

Join Our Seasonal Alumni Calls

Connect with fellow alumni during our quarterly virtual gatherings each October, January, April, and July. These calls are a space to share ideas, deepen practice, and grow our community. Sessions may feature topical discussions, case study presentations, or creative practice workshops—each facilitated by rotating alumni. The July call will align with the program’s summer residency, offering a special opportunity to engage with current students and faculty. All alumni are welcome!
